Dads Philosophy Blog

The blog which gives boldness and confidence, and shares pieces of wisdom!

It’s about balance;-)

Structure

Here, you will find inspiration and food for thought, which are sorted by discipline or topic.

  • Since everything is interconnected, the order does not matter. Start reading whatever interests you most.
  • To make it easy to understand, each section takes 3-5 minutes to read. If you would like more information, send me an email (see imprint), and I will gladly send you recommendations for further reading. Alternatively, download the Blinkist app to your smartphone or computer, select your area of interest, and receive a free book summary every day to listen to or read.
  • Every year, I will also critically review the sections and supplement them with new insights, experiences, and feedback that I have received.

I hope you find something useful here!

About me

My name is Andreas, and I am the father of an eight-year-old son born in 2017. I regularly write about values, role models, and much more. I am interested in substance, not quantity. To keep the overall scope manageable, I update the chapters annually, incorporating new insights and findings without making them too long.

My blog is not a parenting guide but rather a source of inspiration for reflection and discussion. It contains food for thought from the perspective of a father who works as an engineer in a management position — currently as mayor and head of the technical department in Weinheim — and who passionately supports what makes successful cooperation.

I believe in a just and balanced world, but it is not a „sure-fire success“ and requires personal cooperation. Therefore, I am interested in how I can live up to my responsibilities as a father and citizen. I am happy to share my thoughts and experiences on this topic, knowing that I will never stop developing, learning, and understanding the world😊.

I was influenced by the Scouts and the experiences I had there: “Learning by doing,”/ not overwhelming individuals / looking out for one another / respect for nature, and much more.
In order to better understand the connections and background for successful cooperation, I completed a degree in philosophy, politics, and economics at LMU (Ludwig Maximilians University) while working.

You can find my thoughts on values, role models, etc. on Instagram.

About confidence

“Even behind a cloudy sky there is a bright sun” I once read on a postcard – what an apt image for confidence. I took a month break to write about something fundamental today. A topic that particularly highlights the interactions in human life, because I am convinced that everything is somehow interconnected, that humans/humanity/nature …
